One of Dallas’ leading solo acts, Magen performs regularly as a singing pianist at places such as Terilli’s and Ocean Prime. Magen sets herself apart from other solo pianists, incorporating violin over her piano playing. She has also performed with Cirque Du Soleil, the Mary Kay Convention and toured with the popular Irish rock band, Needfire. As an ASCAP award-winning composer, she has had her original compositions premiered by the Georgia State University Symphonic Wind Ensemble, University of Arkansas' Wind Symphony, the Eastman School of Music and Southern Methodist University. In addition to writing music and performing, Magen also teaches privately in the Dallas area, offering lessons to both children and adults. She is a member of ASCAP, the Dallas Music Teacher’s Association, the National Association of Professional Women and an affiliate of Steinway Hall Dallas.
Magen's writing is considered extremely diverse with a catalogue that includes symphonic repertoire, electro-acoustic music, string quartets, music for film, even pop, rock and acoustic music. Magen has had her original compositions premiered by the Georgia State University Symphonic Wind Ensemble, University of Arkansas' Wind Symphony, the Eastman School of Music and Southern Methodist University. She is currently published by C. Alan Publications, based in Greensboro, North Carolina.
She also teaches piano, violin/fiddle and vocals within her private studio as a certified music instructor and member of the Dallas Music Teachers Association under Music Teachers National Association. Magen is the Founder of the Dallas Music Guild-an organization whose mission is to spark interest in independent work and collaboration with local musicians. Magen currently resides in Dallas, TX with her fiance, Chant Duplantier, and her daughter, Zoey.
