Magen currently teaches piano, violin, and composition(songwriting) private lessons in the North Dallas area. Lessons are offered at both student's residences, as well as Magen's in-home music studio.
My Teaching Philosophy: As a teacher, I work with students in a fun, professional setting, focusing on advancing their technical skills and fine tuning their ear for music. My lessons usually consist of a 3-part routine including technique, theory, & performance/repertoire. I currently have a studio of 35 piano and violin students ranging from 5 years of age to older adults. I prefer to use the Faber method with my piano students and the Suzuki method with my violin students. As a member of the Dallas Music Teachers Association, I encourage all of my intermediate and advanced students to participate in events such as the annual Jazz Competition, the Dallas Symphonic Festival, the Sonatina-Sonata-Baroque Festival and the TMTA Theory Exam. Privately, I arrange two recitals for my students every year, Winter and Spring Recitals. Students are required to perform at both recitals and must play their piece from memory in the annual Spring Recital which is hosted by Steinway Hall Dallas.
